Good base layer, muddy at the bottom
Laid a base layer of 3/4 inch under a twelve by sixteen shed pad at our place in Norway, about three tons spread and tamped by hand over a weekend. Compacts up solid and the shed sits level four months later with no sinking. The only knock is the last bit of the pile at the bottom had some clay clumped in with it, and I had to pick through it before spreading.

Great driveway base, a little noisy underfoot
We regraded about two hundred feet of farm lane out past Dexter with two loads of 3/4 inch, close to twenty tons, after the spring thaw left ruts a foot deep. Compacted hard once the tractor rolled over it a few times, and it has held through mud season without a soft spot. Only thing my wife mentions is how much louder the truck tires sound crossing it compared to the old pit run gravel.
